The Palms Caravan Park can organise your Hervey Bay Whale Watching tour.. All tours operating in the area, including complete holiday package, can be booked free of charge on your behalf by Park staff. We also arrange courtesy pick ups and offer a host of other services, such as arranging bike hire and organizing fishing charters and so on. Anything we can do to help you enjoy your stay. If it’s in or near Hervey Bay, we can organize it for you. The following Whale Watch selection provides more detailed information on one of our more popular experiences:

Climb aboard ‘that’s Awesome’ or the multi award winning high speed catamaran ‘Quick Cat II’ for an ‘awesome’ whale watching adventure awarded “Best Tourisms Business’ in 2007:
- ‘that’s awesome’ is a speedy vessel that reduces travel time by up to an hour a trip by comparison to other whale watching vessels, so the bulk of your time is spent watching whales and not traveling
- ‘that’s awesome’ offers the lowest deck to water level with the ability to walk fully around the carpeted deck providing maximum close proximity to the whales at ocean level
- early morning ‘Dawn Patrol’ cruises to enjoy the wildlife, birds, dugongs and dolphins as they wake up and make their way to their feeding grounds. Enjoy the whales as they prepare for another day in Hervey Bay's pristine waters, usually without another vessel in sight
- depart midmorning on a ‘Day Patrol’ to spend some time looking for dingoes and other wildlife as you head up along Fraser Island. This trip is designed to have you in the whale watching area as other vessels are just leaving the harbour and some of the slower vessels that left hours before are still making their way out
- set off mid-afternoon on the ‘Dusk Patrol’ tour while other vessels are making the long journey back. While it can’t be guaranteed, whales are known to become a little more active late in the day. As the afternoon progresses you may see sea birds heading for their nests or dolphins looking for their last feed of the day. As the sun lowers over the Bay waters in the west "that's Awesome" has you cruising within metres of the beach of Fraser Island as the sun brings out the best of the coloured sand cliffs - maybe even spot a Dingo patrolling the beach
- enjoy a fresh fruit platter when you stop off in the crystal clear waters at Pelican Bank for a swim
- available for Parties, Weddings, Dive Trips (to Rooney's point, Artificial reef, Moon ledge and Wolf rock) and Sunset Cruises
